Advent Added Confession Time.
Advent is a good time to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation as is a time to prepare ourselves to celebrate the mystery of incarnation-the birth of our Lord, Saviour and Redeemer. Christ left us the sacraments of healing "Anointing of the sick and Sacrament of Reconciliation", as an opportunity of grace during our pilgrimage here on earth to acknowledge the need for mercy and the healing of soul and body. I'm always available for these sacraments. However, I have added times apart from normal schedule on all Saturdays 4:00-4:45pm and Sunday before 8:30 am mass at St Mary.
I will be also available after 8:30 am morning masses on Thursdays and Fridays thought-out Advent Season. During the Family Faith Formation sessions on Wednesdays, I will also avail myself for 1/2 hour after Adoration of Blessed Sacrament.
UCA: Thank you for Your Support but still need more help to meet our goal!
Our UCA assigned goal is due by 31st December. Holy Angels is almost there to meet its goal. We are way behind for St. Mary and St. Isidore parishes. As shared briefly at last Sunday mass at St. Isidore, I appeal we all consider donating a significant amount directly to UCA. That will help the parishes not to pay the deficit from its savings and also help in fair distribution into the coming year from all Diocese parishes of their respective parish revenues. Any additional contributions received within the Calendar year if we supersede our goal always is applied to the goal assigned for the following year!Thank you for your generosity!
Perpetual Adoration: Lastly, we have reorganized the original small chapel at Holy Angels to have the Blessed Sacrament exposed for perpetual adoration 24 hrs if anyone may want a quiet place in church to pray. It's such a beautiful chapel thanks to its original intent. I request we respect its sacredness while inside there for a quiet meditative atmosphere at all times. The bigger tabernacle in the main church came from Immaculate Heart Italian Church in Hibbing that was closed some years back. I requested the pastor there if we can have it here as it is a bigger one allowing us to use the smaller tabernacle for perpetual adoration inside the small side Chapel. We need better chairs inside for seating if anyone wants to donate funds to purchase them.
Again, our parishes have always been formation school for prayers and growth in virtues. We never get a perfect setting to accommodate all our individual preferences but are blessed to have opportunities for our spiritual growth. May we use them best we can to pray and worship towards growth in holiness as individuals, as families and as a community of faith.
